Dr. Benjamin Thomasson is a fellowship trained Orthopaedic Surgeon serving Central Florida, treating a variety of general orthopaedic conditions. He has hospital privileges at Central Florida Regional Hospital and Florida Hospital Fish Memorial. Dr. Thomasson specializes in sports medicine with special emphasis in arthroscopy and joint replacement of the shoulder, hip, knee, and ankle.



His passion for orthopaedic surgery started at the University of Northern Arizona as an intramural athlete and Exercise Science Major, studying advanced treatment protocols for collegiate and professional athletes. Dr. Thomasson completed an Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at Rowan University in Southern New Jersey, reinforcing his interests in fracture care, joint replacement, arthroscopy, hand surgery and reconstructions of the foot and ankle.



Following his residency training Dr. Thomasson pursued a fellowship in Sports Medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio assisting the team physicians to the San Antonio Spurs, San Antonio Rampage hockey team, San Antonio Missions baseball team, San Antonio Silver Stars women's basketball, and the University of Texas at San Antonio football, basketball, and soccer teams. As a fellowship trained member of the American Orthopaedic Society of Sports Medicine he treats athletes at all levels of competition. Dr. Thomasson has a special interest in complex shoulder instability, multiple ligamentous knee injuries, cartilage restoration techniques, as well as meniscal transplantation.



Dr. Thomasson, his wife, and two children are outdoor enthusiasts and relocated to Central Florida to enjoy their family interests in surfing, biking, running, and triathlons. He and his family participate actively in both church and community volunteer activities and look forward to caring for you and your family.
